AmbitUSA hosted the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Houston (TCC Houston) on May 21, 2003 in a seminar to showcase the availability and possibility its web hosting and x-portal services can have on the organization. With around fifty TCC members attending, the evening was dominated by AmbitUSA President James Chen who presented the many features that his company has to offer centered on his company's slogan: 'We Bring You Online'. As a client of AmbitUSA, TCC Houston members were made aware of the tools on its website that were easily accessible to help keep its members closely connected. Chen demonstrated the simplicity in which members can personally create an account on TCC Houston’s homepage to their selected preferences, showed how the online e-calendar feature could help TCC list and alert members of oncoming events, and explained E-mail list setup and subscription. In addition, Chen explained ways in which AmbitUSA could help TCC Houston build eNewsletter into rich and interactive web pages to include elements such as message board forums and advertisement banners from all business types. The seminar event was not solely filled with the presentation on AmbitUSA web services. Mark Lee, a candidate for city controller in Houston spoke briefly about his upcoming election. As a certified accountant and tax attorney, Lee presented himself as a candidate who will bring expertise to the controller's office. Lee's platform includes zero-based budgeting, efficiently maximize city resources, and seeking long-term solutions with the Mayor and City Council; most specifically, catering more business opportunities for the Houston Asian community. Chen believes that the event was a success for everyone involved. The ultimate goal of this seminar was to illustrate how AmbitUSA and TCC Houston together could facilitate greater communication amongst the Asian Community and consequently enhance the cohesiveness of the group. As a byproduct of the event, TCC Houston members increased their understanding of the organization's website potential, and AmbitUSA put forth the web solution services it can offer for future business opportunities.
